System Requirements for Marratech Web Conferencing

Download FREE Client software. Check below for system requirements and suggestions for web cams and headsets.
See our user guide for how to use our e-meeting portal.

Note: Marratech requires a broadband connection with at least 128 kbps in upload speed.
Use of H.264 video requires Pentium IV 3.0 GHz, Dual Power PC or equivalent.

Broadband Requirements
The faster the computer and the Internet connection the better the experience will be.
Marratech works fine over Cable, DSL, T1, FiOS, or any broadband connection with a minumum of at least 128kbps of UPLOAD speed.
NO DIAL UP
. See the Firewall requirements and network tools below.

Desktop and Application sharing (VNC) requires a decent amount of bandwidth.
Use wired connection over wireless connection if available.

Marratech can work over EVDO, your mileage may vary. For conferences with slower participants chioce a slower room, turn-off video
and do not use desktop and application sharing.

Computer Requirements
Marratech does not  yet support Windows Vista (a downgrade of Java may be required to get it working). See how to set up for Windows Vista here. More information on using Windows Vista on the Marratech Forum.

Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard) is working fine in our internal tests.

FIREWALLS REQUIREMENTS

In most cases, the Marratech software will work directly through personal and corporate networks. If this is not the case, you may need to configure the following ports in your firewall

TCP ports: 8000 (for http)
UDP ports: 52000 to 52999

Notes: These ports should be configured in 'allow-return' mode towards the Marratech Manager server's IP address (151.198.208.101). This means that only meetings originating from within your firewall will be allowed through and only to the originating client. Otherwise, data is not allowed through.

Tools
To check for sufficient bandwidth and the ability to connect to E-Meeting rooms you may find these "tools" useful:

A note on USB:
We recommend connecting all USB devices to a USB 2.0 computer. The older USB 1.1 will often cause bad sound / or video quality as it did not have enough bandwidth or power to drive audio and video and other equipment (scanners, printers, hard disks, etc) at the same time.

A note on audio:
Some built-in audio cards (especially on laptops) may leak audio, meaning that the signal coming out from the output goes in the input. This may cause echo. We have seen this on a number of laptops. The solution has been a USB headset. We STRONGLY recommend the use of headset for decent audio. Just one person not using proper audio in a conference can ruin the experience for all users.
