Most standards based videoconferencing systems will work with
the Video Portal network, whether they are PC, room-based or roll-about
systems.
For H.320 videoconferencing, ISDN users will be responsible for dial access
charges to the nearest Video Portal on-ramp. In most cases, the Video Portal
can provide local ISDN dialing in your LATA avoiding costly long distance ISDN
dialing.
For H.321 videoconferencing if you have a PC based system it must have an
integrated ATM NIC card. If you have a stand-alone codec, you must have an
integrated ATM V-Room.
For H.323 videoconferencing you must follow the Video Portal guidelines for
your local network to ensure proper connectivity and interoperability with the
Video Portal and the Verizon/ANJ network. For more recommendations for H.323 (IP) based conference.
