Vidyo Firewall & Proxy Information

Addresses, Ports and Protocols

If a user is attempting connection to a session running one of the Verizon Access New Jersey VidyoConferencing™ servers, it will be made to one of the following servers IP Addresses:

151.204.177.67
151.204.177.68
151.204.177.69

Vidyo connects using the following ports:

Inbound TCP Port 80 for Web Access
Inbound TCP Port 443 Client Connection to server
Inbound TCP Port 50000 Client Connection to server
UDP 50,000-65,535 Media feeds to/from participants (6 ports per participant)

The ANJ VidyoPortal opens all required UDP ports dynamically based on STUN communication between Client and Server so there is no need to open specific UDP ports on the firewall as long as ports in this range can be dynamically opened.

Vidyo uses a video proxy that helps connections behind restrictive firewalls. If you are behind a very restrictive firewall you will probably still be able to connect as long as port 80 and 443 are available for connections. This is automatic and Vidyo will switch to video proxy if media ports are not available at your location. In these cases "port transversal" will occur and the connection should proceed.

NOTE: Some Firewalls have a UDP default timeout. On the Cisco PIX Firewall, for example, if the UDP timeout is not changed then the call will drop in exactly 2 minutes and the Vidyo client(s) would have to reconnect. You may need to change the UDP Timeout from Default (i.e. 0:02:00 2 minutes) to something larger (i.e. 3:00:00 – 3 hrs)

The end users must have these Firewall and web content filters permissions. Please contact your Network administrator for assistance

Proxy

If your network requires the traversal of a web-proxy, set the Use Web Proxy option. To traverse web-proxies, the VidyoProxy must be used.

You can also check the box for web-proxy auto detect. This helps auto connect to the server, which is useful if you often move around and work from both home and office or campus.

To use the web proxy settings used by the Internet Explorer browser on your machine, select the radio button beside User Settings from Internet Explorer.

If your web proxy requires a user name and a password, you will need to manually enter those under the Username and Password fields.

To manually set the web proxy settings, select the radio box beside Manual and enter your IP address, Port, Username, and Password settings there.
